About Mr. Lister
Richard Lister is the Founder and President of Brain Mining LLC,
where he serves as an Intellectual Property Consultant, Idea Realizer,
Motivational Speaker, and Technical Presenter. He is dedicated to helping
inventors, entrepreneurs, and organizations transform innovative ideas into practical,
actionable solutions.
Mr. Lister is an inventor and patent owner whose intellectual property consulting services are grounded in extensive multidisciplinary engineering expertise spanning the mechanical, electrical, civil, chemical, biomedical, aerospace, environmental, and industrial engineering fields. This broad technical background, combined with his firsthand experience as an inventor and patent owner, enables him to provide clients with a unique combination of engineering knowledge, innovative thinking, intellectual property insight, and practical problem-solving. Through Brain Mining LLC, he assists clients in identifying opportunities, developing inventions, and navigating the innovation process—from concept to realization.
With more than 30 years of public speaking, training, and instructional experience, Mr. Lister has inspired and educated diverse audiences through motivational presentations, technical instruction, and professional development programs. He has delivered technical in-service education in Biomedical Equipment Technology for Durable Medical Equipment (DME) manufacturers and home healthcare organizations, helping professionals expand their technical knowledge and foster a systematic approach to equipment management.
Mr. Lister also served as Chief Instructor for his Respiratory Equipment Service and Repair Training School, where he developed and delivered specialized training programs for the Texas Rehabilitation Commission. His instructional expertise has equipped healthcare professionals and technicians with the practical skills and technical knowledge necessary to excel in their fields.
In addition to his professional work, Mr. Lister is committed to community outreach and education. Through Salvageable Nuggets, Inc., his 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, he regularly volunteers as a Career Day presenter for public and private K–12 schools throughout the Dallas–Fort Worth Metroplex. By sharing his experiences in engineering, innovation, entrepreneurship, and intellectual property, he encourages students to explore creative thinking, problem-solving, and future career opportunities.
